CREATES A PROTECTIVE HYDROPHOBIC
The PAP pen provides a thin, film-like water repellent when drawing a circle around a specimen on a glass slide. This hydrophobic creates the proper surface tension to keep reagents precisely where they're needed.
PREVENTS REAGENT WASTE AND CONTAMINATION
This creates the proper surface tension to hold the antibody solution within the target area on the slide. This avoids repeated wipeouts around the specimen during staining procedures. Since the reagent is guarded by the hydrophobic circle around the tissue, it minimizes the undesirable dilution of the reagents with the wash buffer.
MULTI-SPECIMEN COMPATIBILITY
Two specimens separated by two circles can be applied to the same slide. With PAP pens, you can physically isolate different tissue sections on the same slide and incubate them with different reagents. The pen is especially useful when working with multiple sections on a single slide because of its finer tip.
SUPERIOR HEAT RESISTANCE
The pen applies to microwave staining and in situ hybridization. Circles made by the pen are heat resistant up to 120°C, ready to be used directly on wet slides, insoluble in alcohol and acetone, and withstand rehydration and dehydration steps in alcohol. The pen is stable up to 129 °C in microwave heat.
VERSATILE APPLICATION METHODS
This pen can be used for PAP, ABC, immunofluorescence method, frozen sections, and in situ hybridization procedures.
